The City of Toledo is soliciting statements of qualifications for a progressive design-build firm to perform pre-construction, final design, construction, and post-construction services for the Windermere Pumping Station Improvements project. Work includes replacement and upgrades of bar screens, pumps, motors, electrical systems, architectural and HVAC improvements, and LED lighting, with an estimated construction cost of $10–$12 million. The Project generally comprises modifications to the existing Pump Station which pumps 30 MGD of raw water from the Susquehanna River to the Octoraro Water Treatment Plant. Modifications include but are not limited to, replacement of three existing pumps and installation of two new generators. The existing dry chemical system will also be replaced with a liquid chemical system. Electrical work includes the replacement in kind of the existing transformer as well as the installation of a new switchgear building to hold new switchgear equipment and VFDs for the new pumps. Work also includes the demolition of an existing building and the addition of a small building adjacent to the existing pump station for storage and handling of the liquid chemical system.
