2026 Volkswagen Environmental Mitigation Trust: Eligible Mitigation Actions Request for Applications
This Request for Applications (RFA) will allocate remaining Volkswagen Environmental Mitigation Trust funds to projects that cost-effectively reduce NOx emissions from mobile sources and demonstrate feasibility of all‑electric heavy‑duty vehicles and equipment. DEC seeks proposals for all‑electric replacement or repower projects across eligible mitigation actions (e.g., Class 4–8 local freight trucks, school/shuttle/transit buses, freight switchers, ferries/tugboats, airport ground support equipment, and forklifts). Up to $5,909,575 is available for project work (projects to be completed by June 30, 2028) with rolling contract performance through December 31, 2026, and eligibility and funding limits varying by applicant type (government‑owned up to 85%, privately‑owned up to 75%).
