Commerce is now accepting applications for Defense Community Compatibility Account (DCCA) grant funding for civilian-military compatibility projects near Washington's military installations. DCCA grants provide funds for compatible development and infrastructure projects that affect the economy, environment or quality of life opportunities for communities influenced by military presence. Example projects may include land acquisition, recovery and protection of endangered species, local infrastructure, affordable housing, retrofitting existing uses, economic development and job replacement.

The Department of the Air Force (Air Forces in Europe and Africa) published a presolicitation seeking to procure 125 non-Bluetooth military aviation headsets compatible with the C-130J, with features including battery-powered electronic noise cancellation, low-impedance U-174 plug, comfortable ear cushions, adjustable boom and headband, and a three-year warranty. The acquisition will be awarded using a Best Value selection process evaluating price and the offeror’s ability to meet delivery and specification requirements; all responsible sources may submit quotations, bids, or proposals. The notice was published 2026-04-02 and the presolicitation is scheduled to become inactive on 2026-04-15; points of contact are Michael Coble and Iris Laub.

The U.S. Air Forces Europe and Africa issued a presolicitation seeking 125 non-Bluetooth military aviation headsets compatible with the C-130J. The headsets must meet specific salient characteristics including battery-powered electronic noise cancellation, low impedance, and a U-174 plug. The contract will be awarded on a Best Value basis with performance located in Ramstein, Germany.

Purchase for a vault expansion. Install new reinforced 8” CMU to metal deck above. Reinforcing is two #4 bars every third course, doweled 4” into existing walls. For the existing and new 8” CMU walls (total of four walls) and to create a secured ceiling element, overthe entire vault room - side surface of the walls and to the bottom of the existing steel bar joists install 3/16” expanded metal with a maximum grid opening of 1” x 3” and weighing a minimum of 4.27 pounds per square foot. The new expanded metal shall be applied and fastened to the CMU walls and steel bar joists so that destruction of the existing and reinforcing materials is required to remove them.

Government currently occupies retail and related space in a shopping center under lease in Ruston, Louisiana, that will be expiring. The Government is considering alternative space if economically advantageous and is seeking to lease between minimum 1,136 SF and maximum 1,419 SF gross square feet of existing Class A or B retail space, in Ruston, Louisiana. In making this determination, the Government will consider, among other things, the availability of alternative space that potentially can satisfy the Government’s requirements, as well as costs likely to be incurred through relocating, such as physical move costs, replication of tenant improvements and telecommunication infrastructure and non-productive agency downtime. The ideal space would fit the following: building specifications in compliance with all federal, state and local ordinances; force protection standards in compliance with Department of Defense’s Unified Facility Criteria; outfitted with either designated or open parking. An initial fully serviced five year lease is intended.
