This Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) Attraction Strategy for the City of Yorkton aims to foster economic diversification, job creation, and long-term competitiveness, while enabling access to external funding. The strategy prioritizes three key sectors: Value-Added Agriculture/Agri-Processing, Logistics & Distribution, and AgTech/Automation. Efforts will concentrate on markets in Europe and selected Indo-Pacific regions, alongside a responsive presence in the United States. The plan seeks to align investment with federal and provincial priorities, contributing to measurable economic and community outcomes, including Indigenous economic development, by focusing resources where Yorkton demonstrates the highest competitiveness and investor demand.

This plan outlines a comprehensive revitalization strategy for the City of Yorkton's Downtown and West Broadway Corridor. The primary objective is to address blight and economic decline by enhancing the area's character and appeal through a multi-faceted approach. Key focus areas include urban design, pedestrian and vehicular accessibility, economic development, housing, and social activities and events. The plan promotes beautification, heritage and culture, innovative design principles, and commercial investment, with a proposed full realization by 2020.

This long-range Regional Transportation Study, developed collaboratively by the Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure, the City of Yorkton, and the Rural Municipalities of Wallace and Orkney, establishes a vision for the regional transportation network. It aims to support economic development in Yorkton by addressing existing issues and future needs. The plan outlines a phased approach: short-term development of Grain Millers Drive, intermediate-term construction of regional connectors (East and Southwest Links), and long-term planning for a high-speed freeway around Yorkton, with projections extending to approximately 2040.

This District Plan establishes a framework for orderly, beneficial, and cooperative development among the participating municipalities of the Yorkton Regional Planning District. It focuses on six guiding themes: balancing regional interests, fostering commercial/industrial connectivity and synergy, ensuring sustainable regional services and infrastructure, developing efficient transportation systems, promoting environmental responsibility, and maximizing regional planning benefits.
