This document serves as the Year 1 Progress Report for the Whitfield County Schools' 2024-2029 Strategic Plan. The plan, developed with broad stakeholder input, focuses on four key goal areas: Teaching and Learning, Family and Community Engagement, Business Operations, and District Operations. Its mission is to maximize student growth and achievement through challenging and engaging educational experiences in safe and supportive environments, aiming to prepare students for future success.

The Whitfield County Schools' strategic plan focuses on maximizing student growth and achievement through challenging educational experiences in safe environments. It prioritizes teaching and learning by providing engaging curriculum and evidence-based practices to prepare students for college or careers. The plan also emphasizes family and community engagement to support students' needs and strengthen understanding of learning expectations. Additionally, it focuses on business and district operations, ensuring safe facilities, updated safety measures, and maintained technology for students and staff.

The 2023-2024 School Improvement Plan for Southeast Whitfield High School focuses on improving student academic performance and enhancing family and community engagement. Specific goals include increasing the percentage of students scoring at or above developing learner on the GMAS by 3% in all core subjects and providing opportunities for stakeholders to be further educated for the overall success of their children. The plan aligns with the Whitfield County Strategic Plan, addressing priorities in teaching and learning, human resources, and parent, family, and community engagement. Strategies include implementing evidence-based instructional practices, providing tiered support systems, and enhancing communication and collaboration with families and the community to support students' academic, physical, social, and emotional needs. The plan also details how supplemental federally funded services will support the strategic plan, addressing the needs of economically disadvantaged students, English learners, migratory students, homeless students, children in foster care, children with disabilities, and those who are neglected or delinquent.

The plan utilizes data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement to achieve its objectives.
