The Altamaha Elementary School Advisory Council held three meetings during the 2021-2022 school year. Key discussion topics included the school improvement plan, the FY23 school budget, school enrollment and class size projections, fundraisers, school activities and events, GMAS and STAR 360 testing, Title I school improvement plans, parent-family engagement plans, and CARES Act expenditures. The council also reviewed and approved the FY23 Title I School Improvement Plan, AES Compact, AES Parent-Family Engagement Plan, and the 1% Parent Engagement Expenditure. Future plans included building staff capacity and curriculum training for parents.

The school improvement plan, goals, and strategies were discussed and revised with input from members. New staff members, the School Resource Deputy's role, budget, and school enrollment were presented. Parent engagement allocations and expenditures, compacts, and the parent engagement policy were also presented, discussed, and revised. Later discussions included the proposed FY22 school budget, school enrollment with FY22 class size projection, FY22 fundraisers, FY22 school activities/events, GMAS, and STAR 360 testing dates. The upcoming school improvement plan for FY22 and school improvement goals were also discussed. Parent-Family Engagement District and schools 2021-2022 plans were presented for council input, along with input from parents regarding 2021-2022 compacts and the 1% Parent-Family Engagement Allocation Expenditure.
