Village of Oak Brook

The regular meeting commenced with updates regarding the Bath and Tennis facility, specifically noting that the matter was referred to the Sports Core Advisory Committee for discussion on sustaining infrastructure funding. The President addressed transparency concerns by detailing the process for vetting village opportunities, including the prior referendum rejecting public funding for maintenance and the subsequent RFP leading to a proposal from Chic Chef for facility rebuilding. The status of the Shared Use Path Master Plan, developed with CivilTech Engineering to ensure ADA compliance, was presented, outlining recommended facility types (shared use paths, bike lanes, marked shared lanes) and prioritization criteria based on community input and safety data. Discussion arose concerning proposed path extensions along 16th Street, Spring Road, and connections near the Oakbrook Club, including potential coordination with Oak Brook Terrace and the DuPage County Forest Preserve. The board also approved the minutes from the February 25, 2025, meeting and moved to active business, approving resolutions for the final plat of consolidation for 328 Walnut Lane and renewing the agreement with the York Center Fire Protection District for shared fire inspection services, which has resulted in a significant increase in conducted inspections since its implementation in 2022.

The Village President and Board of Trustees will conduct a public hearing on the proposed budget for the Village of Oak Brook for the twelve-month calendar year commencing January 1, 2026, and ending December 31, 2026. The proposed 2026 Municipal Budget will be available for review by the public at the Village Hall and on the village website.
