This 5-Year Strategic Plan for the Hales Corners Health Department aims to foster 'Healthy People in a Healthy Hales Corners Community' by focusing on two primary goals: continuing to provide the highest quality public health services and expanding the Health Department's visibility within the community. Key strategies include developing a Community Health Improvement Process, updating policies and procedures based on evidence, creating comprehensive staff training plans, increasing media engagement, and diversifying community outreach efforts. The plan is guided by core values such as being relationship-based, prevention-based, evidence-based, social justice-oriented, responsive, and committed to effective, efficient, and sustainable services.

This Comprehensive Plan Update for the Village of Hales Corners serves as a roadmap to enhance the quality of life for residents, expand the vibrant economy, and bolster community pride. It is guided by principles of resource preservation, revitalized corridors and village center, housing diversity, transportation choices, collaboration, and resiliency. The plan outlines goals for balanced land use, diversified economic development, housing preservation and choice, efficient transportation, conservation of natural and cultural resources, effective utilities and community facilities, sustainability, and intergovernmental cooperation.

This Community Health Improvement Plan, titled "Hale and Hearty," serves as a roadmap to guide activities, future goals, and initiatives aimed at enhancing the health and wellness of the Hales Corners community. Developed collaboratively with residents, the plan identifies four key focus areas: Healthy Aging, Improving Emotional Well-Being, Healthy Behaviors to Prevent Chronic Disease, and Safe and Strong Community. The overarching vision is to create an environment dedicated to optimizing the health and well-being of all community members, ensuring health equity, and eliminating disparities through education, promotion, prevention, and preparedness.

The meeting covered financial updates, including deposits for fireworks and portable restrooms, and a donation from the Hales Corners Lion Club. Permits and contracts were discussed, with confirmation needed for beer sales approval in the park permit. Food and drink donations were reviewed, including ice cream sandwiches from Festival Foods and vendor applications from Firewise BBQ and Dippin Dots. Event updates were provided for the Firecracker Four, Car Show, Children's Parade, Children's Games, Patriotic Pet Costume Contest, Pie Baking Contest, and Big Parade. A Hot Dog Eating Contest will replace the Bed Race for 2023. The Friends of Library will host a book sale during the 4th of July weekend. Publicity efforts were discussed, including a flyer with the theme "LET FREEDOM RING" and updates to the Hales Corners 4th of July website.
