The committee reviewed and approved funding for the Hospital Preparedness Program cooperative agreement and the Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention grant. Discussions included new sanitation rules for massage and sauna facilities, body art facilities, and amendments to source water quality standards for artificial swimming lagoons. Additionally, the committee recommended approval for adding hepatitis D as a surveillance condition in Epi-Trax and the adoption of outbreak response plans for STIs and varicella in schools and childcare settings.

The committee reviewed and approved several grant applications, including those for Maternal Infant and Early Childhood Home Visiting, Public Health Emergency Preparedness, State Physical Activity and Nutrition, Overdose Data to Action, WISEWOMAN, and Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity for Prevention and Control of Emerging Infectious Diseases. Additionally, the committee discussed and approved updates to the Tobacco, Electronic Cigarette, and Nicotine Product Retailer Permit Process rule, and approved proposed edits to disease plans for Soft Tick Relapsing Fever, Varicella, Mumps, and Measles.

The committee discussed and approved a grant application titled Advancing Asthma Control through EXHALE Strategies, with a condition to review details regarding Utah County. Additionally, the committee confirmed the exempt status of the WIC OA Funding grant and the Sudden Unexpected Infant Death and Sudden Death in the Young Case Registry grant. The committee also reviewed a one-year cost extension project regarding the Improving Timely Documentation, Reporting, and Analysis of Diagnostic and Intervention Data through Optimization of EHDI Surveillance Practices and Information Systems.
