Ubly Community School District

The board reviewed and approved financial reports regarding general fund balances and accounts payable. Key actions included the approval of the MASB renewal and the acceptance of numerous resignations from preschool, coaching, and paraprofessional staff. The board also authorized several new hires for preschool and teaching roles, as well as approved employment contracts for superintendent, principal, secretarial, custodial, and support staff. Additionally, a closed session was held to conduct contract negotiations.

The board conducted a budget hearing to review and approve various financial plans for the school district. Key actions included the approval of tax levies for the 2018 Debt Retirement, adoption of debt retirement budgets, and confirmation of taxable values for non-homestead millage. The board also formally approved budgets for the Sinking Fund, School Lunch program, Special Revenue Fund, and the General Fund for both the 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 fiscal periods.

The board reviewed financial reports, including the General Fund balance and accounts payable. The administration and board recognized February Students of the Month and commended staff. Key approvals included the 2025-2026 Revised Budget, the 2026-2027 School Year Calendar, the HMH Curriculum purchase, NEOLA policies, and the athletics auto raffle. The board also accepted a teacher resignation, appointed a Board Delegate, named a Friend of Youth, and authorized the opening of an Online Alternative Education School in partnership with Graduation Alliance, including approval of associated curriculum and orientation courses.

The Board met to discuss and act on several items, including amending the meeting agenda to include a Band Trip to Cedar Point. Financial reports were reviewed and accepted. Students and staff members were formally commended for their achievements. Employment actions taken included accepting the retirement of an elementary special education teacher, approving the new hire of a JH/HS special education teacher, and hiring an elementary special education teacher. Additionally, the Board approved a band trip, authorized School of Choice openings, and entered into a closed session for contract negotiations.

The board conducted a discussion and forum regarding the current school year, soliciting feedback from the Student Council.
