The Commission conducted an executive session to interview a police officer candidate and discuss pending legal and personnel matters, subsequently offering employment to the candidate. Monthly reports were presented, covering activity, detective bureau operations, specialized units, and department overtime, with a future meeting with the Finance Department planned to review the overall budget. Updates were provided on recruitment efforts, noting the department is now fully staffed, and on the completion of the new building and commencement of phase two of the project. Additionally, the Commission released an officer from probation and reviewed the draft 2025 Annual Report. A site line issue at a local intersection was also noted for future discussion.

The Board of Finance met to review and confirm fiscal year 2027 budget resolutions, including estimated revenues, appropriations for debt service, the Board of Education operating budget, Board of Selectmen operating and capital budgets, and reserves. The board also established tax relief estimates, set the tax collection rate, and determined the mill rate for the upcoming fiscal year. Additionally, the board discussed and voted on several bonding proposals presented by the Board of Selectmen covering road restoration, bridge rehabilitation, building renovations, and various facilities improvements.

The meeting focused on budget deliberations, including a presentation of the FY26 budget survey results. The Board discussed and formally approved the proposed Board of Education budget of $100,459,485. Additionally, the Board reviewed proposals regarding reallocations, cuts, and additions to the Board of Selectmen budget, and set expectations for further discussions on bonding requests, tax deferrals, and reserves in upcoming meetings.

The Commission evaluated and selected a winning student proposal for the 40 Things We Love About Wilton project, discussing necessary revisions, project finalization steps, and recognition for participants. The Commission also initiated planning for a Restaurant Week event, focusing on a simple promotional structure and potential collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, the Commission discussed conducting outreach to surrounding towns to explore opportunities for cross-promotion and regional collaboration.

The board discussed several items, including the approval of a storm drainage easement at 21 Grumman Avenue and the issuance of purchase orders for commissioning services related to the Cider Mill Chiller Replacement and High School Library Roof and RTU replacement. An update was provided on the Police Station and Department of Public Works projects, including budget and grant details for the ERT Bay. The board received a Year-to-Date budget and finance report, discussed audit progress, and addressed the appointment of a liaison to the Gilbert and Bennett Feasibility Ad Hoc Group. Additionally, the board reviewed the appointment of an interim Public Works Director and received an update on the search process for the Town Administrator and DPW Director positions.
