Project works includes: Construction of a compost facility, at the proposed 7.5-acre site, to compost food scraps using aerated static piles. Site preparation, including clearing and earthwork. The site will be compacted and graded to a 2% slope, including stormwater management features. Installation of structures, including a scale, scalehouse, and receiving building. Installation of a concrete compost pad, including aeration trenches and concrete walls. Installation of aeration fans and piping. Installation of water, sewer and electric utilities, including tie-ins to existing services within the overall site. Surface treatments for the various operational areas, which will include concrete, asphalt or asphalt millings. Construction of a stormwater retention basin, including a geomembrane liner. Installation of internal site utilities, including contact water and irrigation water, along with a sump, pumps, tank, piping and appurtenances. Construction of a screening berm, 4 to 5 feet high, on the south perimeter. Installation of gates, perimeter fencing, and signage.
