The Rhode Island Wildlife Action Plan is a 10-year strategy designed to guide wildlife conservation efforts within the state. It provides a framework for wildlife management, decision-making, and protection of species of greatest conservation need. The plan outlines key areas including the identification of 542 species of greatest conservation need, 37 key habitats, and 13 statewide threats, along with associated conservation actions. This document provides a comprehensive framework for urban tree management, detailing a three-step approach: 'Know What You Have' through inventory and data management; 'Plan and Manage' by developing community forest master plans, ordinances, and urban tree canopy analyses; and implementing an 'Emergency Management Plan'.
