The Orchard Prairie School District's Academic and Student Well-being Recovery Plan focuses on addressing learning and well-being gaps through universal and targeted supports. Universal supports include building relationships, common assessments, early learning initiatives (K-4 literacy), equitable grading practices, multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS), narrowing standards, professional learning, social-emotional learning (SEL) and mental health supports, strategic staffing, student voice and perception, and transition supports. Targeted supports address specific student groups (American Indian/Alaskan Native, Black/African American, White, English language learners, low-income students, students with disabilities) using strategies such as building relationships, common assessments, early learning, equitable grading practices, mastery learning/project-based learning, MTSS, narrowing standards, professional learning, SEL and mental health supports, and strategic staffing. The plan utilizes various diagnostic assessments (e.g., curriculum-based assessments, FAST, GOLD, OSPI screeners, Read Well, running records, Smarter Balanced assessments, WA-KIDS, teacher recommendations) to monitor progress and inform adjustments to strategies and interventions. The district will monitor progress using diagnostic assessments at least each trimester, and the Equity District team will use the results to develop adjustments to strategies and interventions or provide additional supports.

The meeting will cover approval of January 2025 board minutes, review of the agenda, comments for the good of the school, public comments, reports (correspondence, superintendent's report, enrollment, budget status, object/expenditure, and cash flow), old business (video contract proposal, bond update, outdoor learning center heating project update), and new business (approval and certification of expenses for February 2025 payroll and accounts payable).
