Reactivation of 40,000 lbs of granular activated carbon for water treatment vessels.

Rehabilitation of the culvert pit and miscellaneous components. The work to be performed under this contract includes but is not limited to the following: 1. Site clearing and preparation a. Install temporary cofferdam at upstream of northern culvert to dewater the culvert pit. B. Maintain stream flow at all times during construction activity. C. Remove the sediment or debris inside the northern arch culvert and culvert pit. D. Clean vegetation on the existing arch culvert, culvert headwalls and culvert pit walls. E. Inspect and evaluate the arch intrados and footing at the downstream of northern culvert and upstream of southern culvert. 2. Rehabilitation of existing culvert pit. A. Install precast concrete culvert and construct cast-in-place transition structures against the existing upstream and downstream headwall. B. Install joint sealer and water proofing membrane between the newly constructed structure and existing arch culverts. C. Backfill the disturbed area to designated grade and topsoil the area to receive the proposed vegetation. 3. Spillway repair a. Install temporary cofferdam around the existing walkway/ sluice gates in the spillway. B. Remove the sediment or debris to expose spillway sluice gates. C. Remove existing sluice gates. D. Demolish existing walkway including railing, deck, hardware for sluice gates, concrete piers. E. Clean all algae, moss and debris in the open voids of the spillway and prepare the surface to receive the concrete grout. F. Install drill and grout rebars and fill the open voids with concrete grout 4. Stone embankment and washout area restoration a. Clean and repair the existing dry-laid the stone slope protection along the west side of the towpath. B. Excavate at the end of existing slope embankment to receive revetment armoring. C. Install multilayered armoring system including base stone geogrid, compacted dga, mid-layer concrete bed, anchors and armoring stone with mortar to match existing. D. Restore the washout area.
