Neillsville School District

The board also approved an early graduation request and the renewal of the Neillsville Area Chamber of Commerce membership. Personnel actions included approving a one-time supplemental payment for bus drivers, accepting coupon and monetary donations, and approving the hiring of two food service assistants and three teaching staff members (one special education, one high school English, with a contract termination fee paid). The board also approved the hiring of new coaches for golf and baseball, and accepted the resignation of one high school English teacher and two coaches (baseball and assistant cross country). Reports were provided on student attendance, academic progress, transportation updates including bus garage remodels and equipment purchases, enrollment, social media performance, and audits. The board also convened a closed session to discuss contractual matters.

The Board discussed several items, including the approval of the 4K full-day schedule for the 2026-2027 school year and early graduation requests for several students. The Board approved the 2026 membership in the Neillsville Improvement Corporation and accepted several donations. Following a closed session to discuss contractual matters, the Board approved the resignations of three coaching staff members and approved contract revisions for two assistant wrestling coaches. Reports were also provided on WASB and CESA activities.

During the meeting, a public appearance was made regarding the varsity football program. Key actions included the approval of a Consent Agenda which covered the treasurer's report, payment of general account checks, and the final adoption of numerous policies. The Board approved the Academic and Career Plan and the Redefining Ready Annual Report. Updates were received on a building project. The Board approved an increase in athletic officials' pay, the Warrior Strength Club student club application, and several donations. Reports were presented by the principals regarding elementary, middle, and high school matters including attendance, academic events, and disciplinary issues. The Transportation Director provided updates on staffing and equipment. The Administrator reported on school report cards, legislation, and convention planning. Following a closed session to discuss contractual matters, the Board approved the hiring of personnel for custodial, teaching assistant, and ASL Interpreter positions, revised letters of appointment for several individuals, approved a Memorandum of Understanding, and accepted resignations for assistant high school football coaching positions. The hiring of a new assistant high school track coach and a winter weight room supervisor was also approved.

This special joint meeting of the School District of Neillsville and School District of Granton Boards of Education involved the Granton Administrator providing background information on the concept of whole grade sharing. Following this presentation, an open dialogue on the topic occurred between the two districts. No official action was taken during the session.
