Board meetings and strategic plans from City of Milwaukee
The Licenses Committee meeting covered a wide array of license applications including tavern, entertainment premises, food dealer, secondhand dealer, and towing permits. Key discussions involved specific license requests such as the North/South Club's entertainment application, La Carreta Vieja's extended hours, and various license renewals for businesses like Family Dollar and local taverns. The committee also addressed operational plan amendments, such as security, noise control, and parking considerations for new and renewing applicants. Several applications were approved with warning letters or amended operating plans, while others were denied due to non-appearance or police report findings.
The committee addressed various administrative and legal matters, including the reappointment of an official to the Administrative Review Appeals Board and multiple property damage appeals which were either disallowed, held, or settled. Key discussion topics included the return of real estate to a former owner, the review of the Outstanding Receivables Report, and proposed appropriations for legal counsel regarding police department matters. The committee also authorized settlements for several lawsuits, opposed a property classification request, evaluated an ordinance concerning the equal rights commission, and reviewed communications regarding Fire and Police Commission directives and various state legislative bills.
