Board meetings and strategic plans from Town of Mount Pleasant
The 2026-2030 Strategic Plan serves as a roadmap for the organization's direction and operations, demonstrating an ongoing commitment to thoughtful planning and continuous improvement over the next five years. It is structured around three key strategic themes: Optimizing Services, Strengthening of Critical Assets, and Workforce Resiliency. The plan aims to achieve greater efficiency in service delivery, improved community engagement, enhanced infrastructure and technology, long-term sustainability, and a more resilient, high-performing workforce.
The meeting included an update on Planning Commission recommendations, highlighting recent annexations and zoning approvals for various properties. The primary focus was a public hearing regarding a zoning code text amendment for Chapter 156.039, which proposes that residentially zoned properties designated for community facilities must undergo a comprehensive plan amendment process if development exceeds one residential unit. Discussion centered on the procedural history of these density regulations and the intent to ensure town council oversight for such developments.
