The worksession agenda included discussion and review of the following: McCall District vision and mission statement; construction projects; financial statements; client claims docket; superintendent's report; an Overlook agreement for accelerated learning; an Overlook agreement for Barclays security; an Overlook agreement for accelerate learning consulting services; an agreement with C G J Enterprises DBA Southern; an agreement with Climbing Higher Heights LLC; an agreement with Harbor Education Consultants; and agreements with several other entities for services such as curriculum alignment, teacher professional development, and tutoring.

The worksession included discussions on employee military service, specifically addressing the application of military service to the administrative pay scale. The group also reviewed and approved financial statements, including reconciliations and outstanding checks. Discussions included the use of ClassLink for student technology, athletic opportunities, and various agreements with Aspire Rehab Group LLC, Bail Protection Services LLC, Dynamic Communication LLC, and others. A significant portion of the meeting involved a detailed review and discussion of the Capturing Kids' Hearts program, including costs and implementation timelines. Finally, agreements with Holyfield Flooring and Trim LLC and Smith Sweeping and Lawn Services Incorporated were also reviewed.

The McComb School District's Dropout Prevention Plan for the 2022-2023 school year aims to improve student outcomes in attendance, behavior, and course performance across McComb High School, Denman Junior High School, and Higgins Middle School. Strategies include early identification of at-risk students, implementation of Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS), social and emotional counseling, mentoring, incentives for good attendance and academic performance, parental involvement, collaboration with community resources, and credit recovery programs. The plan sets goals to improve attendance by 5% annually, decrease office discipline referrals by 5% annually, improve academic performance in core subjects and increase ACT composite scores by 5% annually over the next five years. Specific interventions are detailed for each school, targeting areas such as chronic absenteeism, disruptive behavior, and low performance in core subjects. The plan utilizes data-driven decision making and progress monitoring to track effectiveness.
