Lomira School District

The meeting focused on board development with the support of Ted Neitzke from CESA 6 and Mr. Breitlow.

The board convened into a closed session to interview district administrator candidates.

The board meeting covered various topics, including a bond refinancing update, preliminary drawings for a proposed health and wellness center, and a discussion on potential funding through donations. Reports were given on enrollment numbers, parent-teacher conferences, and upcoming ACT testing. Updates were also provided on student mental health services, athletic programs, and legislative matters. The board approved the purchase of a new propane bus, updated driver salaries and benefits, updated board bylaws/policies, and a resolution authorizing the issuance and sale of general obligation refunding bonds.

The meeting included discussion on transportation needs, conference alignment, spring sports updates, a successful Escape Room Literacy Night, and new reading programs. Reports were given on the "Reality Check" event, a Transition Readiness Grant, election results, a statewide tornado drill, a donation for strength and conditioning athletes, and a meeting with the village regarding the SRO. Updates were also provided on EV bus cabinet installation and the district's recognition as a Top Workplace. CESA updates were shared, and various motions were made and carried regarding the approval of an audit contract, summer school courses and appointments, donations for the locker room project, a contract for a school psychologist, resignations of teachers, administrative contract extensions, and compensation recommendations. A closed session was held to discuss administrative contract extensions, renewals, and/or modifications.

The board meeting included reports on safety drills, a legislative update, and financial reports. Discussions covered concerns about police presence, updates on student programs, and fall sports. The board approved purchases of door hardware, playground equipment, horns and strobes, and authorized staff access to educational records. A 66.03 agreement with Mayville School District was approved, along with the retirement of an employee. A new program, CrisisGo, was also discussed.
