Lincoln County School District

The mission of the Lincoln County School District is to provide quality educational opportunities for eligible residents of the district, developing academic and related programs to meet the challenge of educating students, reflecting the standards, needs, and goals of all members of the school. The plan emphasizes the importance of effective teachers and leaders, curriculum planning, varied instructional methods, and the evaluation of student mastery through multiple assessment tools. It also includes offering diverse educational programs such as basic skills, career-technical training, special services, college preparatory programs, and alternative education, while promoting safe and drug-free schools.

This policy mandates that the school district provide a curriculum meeting Mississippi College and Career Readiness Standards or the Mississippi Curriculum Framework. Beginning in 2018-2019, cursive reading and writing instruction will be implemented, aiming for student proficiency by the end of fifth grade. Programs for limited-English proficient students will prioritize mainstreaming into regular classrooms with an emphasis on English language instruction.
