Emanuel County Schools

This document outlines the strategic direction for Emanuel County School System through its 2021-2022 strategic plan. The meeting focused on several key initiatives, including a review of work-based learning and the VISION 2020 program, with the Board deciding to develop a new strategic plan to align with local workforce needs and certification standards. Reports were provided on the Governor's Workforce Summit, board member training requirements, and updates on curriculum offerings including robotics and mechatronics. The Board also discussed the Peach Education Tax Credit and potential fundraising strategies, as well as the implementation of career exploration days for students. A tour of the facility concluded the session.

The Emanuel County School District's reopening plan for the 2020-2021 school year offers two instructional options: traditional in-person learning, adhering to Georgia's Path to Recovery safety guidelines, and virtual learning via the ECS Virtual Academy. The plan prioritizes student and staff health, ensures instructional rigor for both models, and accommodates diverse family needs regarding COVID-19 concerns. Key elements include a commitment period for the virtual option and restrictions on extracurricular activities for virtual students. All students are initially scheduled for traditional schooling, with an enrollment deadline of July 29, 2020, for the virtual academy for the school year commencing August 3.

This District Improvement Plan Summary for the Emanuel County School System outlines a strategic roadmap for the 2025-2026 school term, aligning with the system's broader strategic plan and a continuous improvement framework. The plan is structured around four primary goals: enhancing individualized instruction to achieve a 3% increase in proficient GMAS scores; providing at least four individualized, evidence-based professional learning opportunities for all staff; addressing student attendance issues and monitoring through MTSS and Credit Recovery to improve graduation rates by 3%; and supporting the Parent Resource/Technology Bus to increase parental involvement by 3% in offered events. The board discussed and took action regarding the disposal of various pieces of surplus equipment, which were approved to be sent to auction. Additionally, the board announced initial vacancies for the newly created Public Facilities Authority.
