Dulce Independent School District

The meeting addressed a change in personnel for the District Test Coordinator position. The School Board was informed that the individual in that position had been moved to a different role within the District, necessitating an adjustment to the Salary Schedule. The recommendation was made to revert the DTC Salary Schedule back to the original schedule.

The School Board discussed and approved the 2025-2026 School Improvement & Transformation Application, Fund 24190, to support school improvement and graduation rates at the high school. The board also acknowledged carryover funds from the previous year in the Middle School and Elementary School. Registration for the NMSBA Fall Region Meeting was submitted.

The meeting addressed several key areas, including the approval of the purchase of a new turf field for the Dulce High School football and track field. Reports were given by the Superintendent, various directors, and the Transportation Supervisor. The board discussed and approved the renewal of the Walsh Gallegos Membership for the New Mexico Legal Services Retainer Program. They also discussed and approved the Facilities Master Plan. The board also discussed and approved the Dulce Federation of United School Employees agreements for both teachers and educational assistants. The board also discussed and approved out-of-state travel for a maintenance employee for HVAC training. The board then moved into an executive session to discuss the appointment of the Interim Superintendent.

The meeting included a review of limited personnel matters during an executive session, and no action was taken following the session. Announcements were made regarding hotel reservations for board members attending the 2025 NMSBA Annual Convention, with a contingency plan to reserve additional rooms for potential newly elected board members.

The meeting included discussions and actions on various topics, such as a presentation on anti-bullying measures, renewal of a lease agreement with the Jicarilla Apache Nation, and updates on academic programs and student achievement. There were discussions regarding cultural relevance in education, student attendance policies, and reports from school principals on middle school improvements, high school updates, and elementary school transitions. Additional topics included a presentation on the Food Services program, approval of meeting minutes, finance reports, a request for funding and out-of-state travel for the Dulce Middle School Close-Up program, discussion of a cheerleader program, and salary schedule amendments.
