The board participated in a dyslexia simulation and discussed meeting support systems to enhance transparency and organizational efficiency. Policy governance was a central theme, involving reviews of the monitoring process, executive limitations, and specific monitoring reports regarding the treatment of students, parents, and community members, as well as academic excellence and communication support to the board. The group established a standardized structure and review process for future monitoring reports.

The board retreat focused on several strategic initiatives, including a review of Board Governance processes and self-evaluations. The board analyzed feedback from middle school student engagement sessions, discussing its implications for future community connection plans and mission/vision alignment. Additional agenda items included establishing board committee priorities, facilitating discussions with committee members, and conducting a tour of Stone Canyon.

The board retreat focused on a work session that included board member and superintendent introductions, an Emergenetics workshop regarding thinking and behavioral preferences, and a review of governance norms and communication protocols. Additionally, the retreat covered training on Colorado Open Meeting Laws and CORA compliance, a review of the policy governance framework, monitoring, and board priorities, followed by a retreat reflection and closing discussion.

The event featured a candidate forum for the Board of Education, where candidates introduced themselves and shared their platforms. Key discussion topics included academic excellence, parental rights, support for students with IEPs and 504 plans, CTE education, protecting girls' sports, and school funding. The procedural outline for the forum, including the structure for candidate responses, time limits, and rebuttal periods, was also presented.

The meeting included recognitions for transportation team members for their participation in the bus rodeo, as well as acknowledgements for outgoing members of several district committees including the District Accountability Committee, Long Range Planning Committee, Fiscal Oversight Committee, and the Mill Bond Oversight Committee. Additionally, administrative and board assistant staff were recognized. The Board discussed and approved the meeting agenda. Superintendent reports highlighted recent graduations, student achievements such as the National Merit scholarship winners and a teacher of the year semi-finalist, and community initiatives including supply drives, road safety events, summer meal programs, and upcoming job fairs. Public comment covered topics regarding a collective bargaining agreement and a charter school resolution.
