The committee meeting focused on a compliance correction regarding the 50% law calculation for the 2025-2026 adopted budget, noting that the error originated from a spreadsheet formula rather than the data entry. Additionally, the committee conducted a review of the 2024-2025 CCFS 311 Annual Financial and Budget Report, which is scheduled for presentation to the Board of Trustees.

The committee discussed the First Principal Apportionment and Prior Year Recalculation updates, reviewing the impacts of these financial calculations on the district's budget. Additionally, the committee received an update on the completion of the 2024-25 audit and the initiation of the 2025-26 preliminary audit. There was also a report regarding consultation services being utilized to better understand the funding formula and improve future budget projections.

The Committee discussed and approved several curriculum changes, including course deactivations for Computer Science, Business Administration, Computer Science AS, Criminal Justice, Economics, History, Political Science, and Sociology. Concept approvals were granted for multiple levels of KINE courses, a non-credit version of ENGL 005A, and an AA-T in Social Work and Human Services. Additionally, the Committee approved the 2026-2027 Curriculum Calendar, an amended ECE/CD 2-year cycle, and a new process for 2-year cycle reviews. Information was provided on the ADT rationale review process, articulation reports, and the upcoming 2026 Curriculum Institute.

The College Council meeting featured reports from various governance groups regarding committee structures, policy reviews, and institutional initiatives. Updates were provided on the academic calendar, budget advisory scheduling, EEO plan progress, and marketing activities, such as video development and brochure creation. Facility and safety protocols, including a shelter-in-place test, were discussed. The Superintendent/President delivered a district update. The Council also engaged in the initial review of several Board Policies and Administrative Procedures concerning district operations, curriculum development, enrollment priorities, and student governance, alongside ongoing discussions regarding the IEPI glossary and committee activation processes.

The meeting included recognitions of new employees, the presentation of the Star Award, and a farewell for the Vice President of Academic Services. Discussion items covered reports from the Superintendent/President regarding the state budget, the Foundation, academic and classified senates, and an update on the financial audit which received an unmodified opinion. The Board addressed accreditation updates, reviewed the mission statement, and reviewed the organizational chart. Action items included the approval of various board policies, management job descriptions for Athletic and Nursing Directors, classified position adjustments, and a donation of classroom furniture to the Morongo Unified School District.
