Key actions included approving various resolutions for community recognitions and monthly observances, and adopting updates to fee schedules and budget revisions for county departments. Significant approvals were granted for infrastructure and capital projects, including construction management services for the North Branch Jail expansion and North County Crisis Residential Treatment Facilities, as well as agreements for electric vehicle charging station funding. The Board authorized numerous professional service agreements for technical support, engineering, and software licensing. Additionally, the Board processed communications for referral concerning local election measures, bonds, and tax proposals, and authorized agreements for fire protection, public health programs, and emergency communications.

The County of Santa Barbara's RENEW initiative, launched in 2017, is a multi-year organizational transformation and strategic planning effort. It aimed to rethink technology, people, and processes across five core areas: re-visioning the organization, re-balancing resources, re-designing work, responding to residents with high-quality services, and retaining high-performing employees. The plan cultivated a culture of accountability, customer focus, equity & inclusion, innovation, and trust & ethics (ACE-IT values) and implemented transformational behaviors (CARDS). Key elements included developing countywide goals, enhancing innovation through InnovateSBC, and conducting departmental operational reviews. The initiative, initially called 'Renew '22' and concluding its initial phase in 2022, now continues as 'Renew' to embed these improvements and drive continuous progress towards providing exceptional public service and a safe, healthy, and prosperous life for all residents.

The Board of Supervisors conducted a budget workshop for the upcoming 2025-2026 fiscal year, focusing on preliminary budget previews and departmental work plans. Key topics included the theme of stability amid uncertainty, the importance of prudent fiscal planning, and potential economic challenges such as recession predictions and federal and state budget impacts. The Board emphasized prioritizing housing and permitting processes, managing deferred maintenance, and continuing long-term funding strategies for capital projects, including the Northern Branch Jail expansion and retiree health obligations.

The Planning Commission meeting addressed the Mission Isla Vista Partners housing development project, including a review of updated architectural design revisions concerning site plans, massing, and landscaping following feedback from the South Board of Architectural Review. Additionally, a request for a continuance for the McAllen Ranch tentative parcel map was reviewed and approved. The commission also discussed agenda projections, informational reports regarding upcoming agricultural tourism summits and environmental updates, and a director's report on upcoming board items.
