This document outlines the Academically or Intellectually Gifted (AIG) Plan for Onslow County Schools, referencing North Carolina Article 9B and state standards. The plan's vision is to empower and equip educators and advanced learners, while its mission is to challenge and support advanced learners through enriched experiences that foster critical thinking, creativity, and personal growth. The meeting began with an invocation and recognition of guests. Agenda items included the approval of the agenda as amended, which involved moving the 2024-2025 Head Start continuation grant application approval to general business. Significant time was dedicated to recognizing student achievements: students whose artwork appeared on the district Christmas card were honored, as were students selected for the Eastern Regional Orchestra. Furthermore, the meeting recognized recipients of graduate certificates in elementary mathematics and science education specialist programs through a partnership with ECU.
