The commission reviewed and approved a conditional use permit for the extension of an existing concrete batch plant operation at 2499 Qualcomm Way, with a new expiration date set for June 3, 2028. A significant portion of the meeting focused on an action item concerning the proposal for a wireless public safety communications tower in Gershwin Park, including an alternative site analysis and community feedback regarding environmental and aesthetic concerns; the motion to deny the project was passed. Additionally, the group determined officer assignments for the coming term and organized chairs for various standing committees. Discussions regarding idle oil wells and hybrid meeting formats were postponed.
