The commission reviewed candidate scores and formally certified the Civil Service Eligibility List. The commission reviewed and discussed candidate scores and subsequently certified the eligibility list for lateral and entry-level police officer positions. Other business items included updates on recruitment processes for various municipal positions, including the Community Development Director, Facilities Supervisor, and Recreation Supervisor, as well as an update regarding the newly approved Employee Handbook.

The commission discussed the work plan regarding the City's art collection, including identifying opportunities for future public art and potential cleaning or repairs for pieces currently on display. Other topics included updates to the Arts of the Terrace website, review of interview questions for prospective commissioners, and the status of the Manu Sood scholarship. Additionally, the commission voted to cancel an upcoming regular meeting.

The commission reviewed community engagement efforts, including recaps on Children's Day, Celebrating Cultures Across the Pacific, and plans for upcoming Pride events, Juneteenth, and Every Child Matters Day. Discussions were held regarding the development of a subcommittee to collaborate with the Arts Advisory Commission, training opportunities such as the Step Up and People's Institute programs, and regional equity collaboration. Additionally, the commission discussed recommendations for 2026 proclamations to be presented to the City Council and received reports from the City Council liaison and commission staff regarding fiscal sustainability strategies.

The Commission discussed the appointment of an NPIS applicant, reviewed the 2026 work plan including upcoming events, and received updates on various park projects such as the Veterans Memorial Park, Ballinger construction, and tennis court improvements. Discussions also covered invasive species efforts, fundraising activities, the need for community outreach regarding off-leash dog areas, and the results of the Firefighters Memorial Park playground design survey. Additionally, the Council Liaison provided updates on the Metropolitan Parks District, and the department status report included news on volunteer efforts, park maintenance, and upcoming community events.
