This Urban Water Management Plan (UWMP) aims to review and enhance the reliability of urban water supplies, ensure adequate water availability for future beneficial uses, promote water conservation policies and programs, and establish a framework for responding to water supply shortages and drought conditions. Key focus areas include developing a long-term water use roadmap, evaluating potable and non-potable supplies, assessing water deliveries and identifying constraints, ensuring water supply reliability through normal, single dry-year, and five consecutive dry years scenarios, conducting a realistic Drought Risk Assessment (DRA), and establishing an effective Water Shortage Contingency Plan (WSCP) to manage demand and augment supplies.

Key focus areas include preparing a roadmap for current and long-term water use, evaluating potable and non-potable water supplies, assessing water delivery constraints, and developing a realistic Drought Risk Assessment (DRA) and an effective Water Shortage Contingency Plan (WSCP). The plan integrates land-use planning, water supply planning, and climate change considerations, extending its projections through 2050.

The meeting included a closed session regarding real property negotiations, anticipated litigation, and a public employee performance evaluation. The council adopted resolutions for a consultant services agreement with Craft Community Care Center, Inc., the 2023/24 Pavement Management Project, and Water Treatment Plant filter improvements. The board also addressed various consent items, including an amendment to the Master Pay Schedule, a consultant agreement for zoning map updates, a second amendment to an agreement for the Housing Element update, and the acceptance of grant funds for senior and aquatic programs.

The Commission discussed career exploration options for the City of Pittsburg, including the participation of Human Resources and the use of the mynextmove tool. Additionally, upcoming agenda items were noted, specifically a presentation on an internship program by the Earth Team, and the decision was made to postpone the consideration of a movie night event until next year.
