This document outlines Georgia State University's strategic plan, which introduces 20 new initiatives built upon foundational pillars of identity placemaking and belonging, innovating research, scholarship and creative activity, and student success leading to careers. The mission aims to foster a community of belonging, transformational research, student success, and career preparation. Key initiatives include prioritizing high-impact practices, strengthening the core curriculum, advancing student and faculty research, and establishing 'Panther quads' on every campus, all designed to position the university as a leader in opportunity, transformation, and success through its 'blueprint to 2033'.
The virtual town hall served as a career development session for Master of Public Health students featuring alumni panelists. The discussion focused on strategies for entering the public health job market, the importance of networking, seeking internships and graduate research assistantships, and leveraging faculty connections. Panelists shared insights on navigating career transitions, the value of interdisciplinary skills, the necessity of continuous learning, and the importance of being resourceful and proactive during the job search process.
The strategic plan, launched by the Office of International Initiatives (OII) in 2024, outlines a 5-year roadmap for expanding global education. It is founded on the belief that global experiences foster critical skills, intercultural understanding, and strengthen Georgia State University's research, teaching, and scholarship. The plan focuses on three strategic outcomes: increasing access to global education for all students, facilitating international teaching, research, and scholarship, and positioning OII as a hub for global engagement and intercultural education for the Georgia State community.
