This Transit-Oriented Development Master Plan establishes a strategic framework for guiding future development around the Ferrisburgh-Vergennes Amtrak station. The plan focuses on integrating land use, transportation, and community design to support compact, connected, and walkable development. Key recommendations include implementing zoning regulation changes for specific districts, creating a form and site design overlay, consolidating design standards, and expanding administrative authority for simpler project review. It also recommends seeking new growth area designations, adopting an official map for future infrastructure, and developing comprehensive standards for roads. The overall vision is to foster a vibrant, equitable, multimodal, and resilient station area that reflects local character and values.

The committee meeting began with a historical presentation on the town followed by member introductions and values exploration. Staff presented an initial project area map and discussed existing infrastructure conditions. The facilitator led a discussion on the Master Plan process, detailing its purpose for long-term visioning, public engagement, capital planning, and capacity building. The group also reviewed the three-phase project work plan, which includes producing a Statement of Work and Request for Proposals, engaging consultants for a public process, and drafting the final Village Master Plan.
