Burlington City Council Regular Session
The Council reviewed and approved requests for event permits, including street closures for a local fair and the use of Kelley Park for an automotive show. Departmental updates were provided, including maintenance activities by the Electric, Water, Wastewater, Parks, and Street departments, as well as an update from the Police Department regarding staff training and nuisance properties. The Council approved change orders for the 2026 Street Improvements Project, declared a Planning Commission action void due to lack of a quorum, and approved a resolution to set a hearing for the demolition of a condemned structure. Additionally, the Council authorized the advertising of a vacant City Clerk position following a retirement notice and discussed potential future projects including a Reinvestment Housing Incentive District and the acquisition of property for a parking lot.
