The board considered applications regarding property developments at 1012 Broad Street and 1250-1274 Broad Street. The application for 1012 Broad Street involved converting a building into a dental lab and counseling care center, while the application for 1250-1274 Broad Street concerned a proposal to establish a fast-food restaurant with drive-through service and associated bulk variances. Both applications were ultimately adjourned to future dates.
The board addressed an adjournment request for the application concerning 160 East Passaic Avenue and approved resolutions for five properties: 224 Broughton Avenue, 470 Essex Avenue, 16 Burnett Street, 7 Alexander Avenue, and 24 Clover Lane. Additionally, the board held an extensive discussion regarding a site plan application for 1012 Broad Street, which involves seeking minor site plan approval and D1 use variances to convert the premises into a dental lab and counseling center. The discussion covered various operational concerns, including traffic, parking, site plan layout, utility usage, and building site safety.
The board reviewed and approved licenses issued for the previous month, received reports from the Health Officer regarding communicable diseases, flu vaccination efforts, and the Mayor's Wellness Campaign. Discussions covered FIFA-related emergency preparedness, recent grant awards for public health infrastructure and childhood lead exposure prevention, as well as rodent control initiatives. The board formally adopted a new Vaccine Preparation and Needle Use Policy and briefly entered a closed session to discuss matters allowed under statutory provisions.
