This document is an executive summary of The University of Alabama Libraries' 2017-2021 Strategic Plan, aligning with the University's strategic pillars. The plan is structured around five main goals: partnering across disciplines for innovative instruction, developing dynamic physical and virtual spaces, supporting the research lifecycle, re-envisioning technology services and workforce development, and fostering a diverse and inclusive environment. The overarching aim is to advance the educational mission, facilitate teaching, research, and learning, and support discovery, learning, and creativity at the University.

The University of Alabama's strategic plan, "Advancing the Flagship: The Next Phase," builds upon the original 2016 plan to enhance the University's mission of advancing intellectual and social conditions through quality teaching, research, and service. The five-year plan focuses on academic and research growth, improved enrollment and recruitment, and community success, aligning individual divisions and departments to support central goals and positively impact Alabama, the nation, and the world.

The UA Strategic Plan: Advancing the Flagship: The Next Phase (2022-2027) focuses on providing a premier education, increasing productivity and innovation in research, scholarship, and creative activities, enriching the learning and work environment, and fostering an environment that supports outstanding faculty and staff. The plan aims to build upon previous progress and achieve greater advancements.
