During the organization meeting, the Council selected its leadership, appointed a City Clerk, adopted rules for the upcoming term, and designated official newspapers. The regular meeting addressed the approval of administrative tax cancellations, authorization of a bond ordinance for school district capital improvements, appointments to the Civil Service Commission and Public Library Board of Trustees, and acceptance of grants for a financial empowerment initiative. Additionally, the Council approved a lease agreement for police office space and authorized grant applications for affordable rental housing rehabilitation.
