Metropolitan Council Meeting
The council meeting addressed several community concerns, primarily focusing on the closure of public bathrooms at the Brooklyn Center Transit Center. Speakers, including local business owners and residents, argued that the closure has negatively impacted the community by fostering unsafe conditions, contributing to local business closures, and creating unsanitary public spaces. The discussion highlighted the need for re-opening these facilities to support riders and improve the retail environment in the area. The council also received a land, water, and people acknowledgement statement.
