The committee reviewed and previewed the upcoming draft agendas for the board meetings scheduled for August 10 and August 24. Additionally, the committee discussed potential items to be included in future agendas.

The board recognized the MHS Boys Golf Team for their state championship. The Superintendent provided updates on new elementary principals and ongoing summer school programming. Discussion items included a 360 data review of the Clark Street Community School, a positive report on substitute teacher coverage, a district sustainability update regarding energy projects, an increase in student enrollment, and planning for a non-recurring operational referendum. The board approved district academic standards, additional 4K open enrollment seats, a revised school resource officer contract, bus purchases, and an independent hearing officer.

The committee reviewed the 2026-27 budget updates and the associated budget development timeline. Additionally, participants engaged in a discussion regarding potential scenarios for an operational referendum and reviewed the May Treasurer's report.

The document outlines the Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District's Future-Preparedness Framework, known as 'A Cardinal's Journey.' This framework serves as a guide for student success, equipping them with essential knowledge, skills, and mindsets. It is grounded in the 'Cardinal Mindset' (Curious, Community-Oriented, Self-Aware, Accountable) and strengthened by 'Cardinal Foundations' (Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking & Problem Solving, and Adaptability). The plan aims to ensure students graduate as confident, capable, and future-ready individuals prepared to innovate, contribute, and succeed in their communities and beyond.
