Asheboro City Council Regular City Council Meeting
The council discussed various items, including a resolution to recognize and celebrate the dedication of the Charters of Freedom on Veterans Day, and heard public comments regarding the constitutionality of license plate readers. The council approved the consent agenda and discussed the status of a third fire station project, opening a public hearing which was then continued to a later date. Additionally, a public hearing was held regarding a potential Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) application for public facility improvements, including water and sewer projects and neighborhood facility renovations. Finally, the council authorized a time extension for an existing CDBG grant for Casman Homes renovations and set a public hearing for next month to pursue additional funding for that project.
