The council administered the oath of office for a new councilmember and received an award from the Daughters of the American Revolution. Key actions included the appointment of an interim city attorney and the approval of an employment agreement for a new city attorney. The council conducted legislative and quasi-judicial hearings regarding zoning map amendments for a congregate living facility and a special use permit for a billboard, both of which were approved. Additionally, the council directed the city clerk to investigate multiple annexation petitions and set dates for future public hearings on these matters. A General Fund budget amendment was adopted to reallocate funds, and staff received authorization to solicit qualifications for firms to lead a comprehensive planning process.

The commission agenda includes the consideration of a building reuse grant application, an informational presentation regarding engine compression brakes from the police department, and the continuation of officer elections.
