The commission reviewed and approved the payment of bills, requisitions, and check registers for government and proprietary funds. The meeting included the awarding of several bids, specifically for a Honda Pioneer UTV, alternate daily cover materials, bill print and mail services for water operations, hydrated lime, potassium permanganate, a GIS field data collection solution, widening improvements for Morgan Road, and erosion control materials.

The commission reviewed and approved an amendment to the Town of Mt Laurel Special District Master Plan and a corresponding rezoning request to facilitate the conveyance of approximately 175.5 acres to the Alabama Forever Wild Land Trust for public conservation. Additionally, the commission approved a front yard setback variance for a single-family home in the Shoal Creek residential subdivision. It was also noted that the upcoming scheduled meeting was cancelled due to a lack of cases.

The board discussed the allocation of CDBG funds, ultimately rescinding a prior decision to create a new public service fund in favor of allocating unspent funds to already-approved projects based on a percentage of total funding. Additionally, the board reviewed the 2026 application process and schedule for the CDBG program, including deadlines for letters of intent, workshops, consultations, and project presentations. The board also officially approved the Application Handbook for Program Year 2026.

The commission addressed several bid awards for essential county projects and supplies, including HDPE pipe, doors and door hardware, plumbing fixtures and pipe supplies, traffic signal and ITS upgrades on state and local routes, and a paving and resurfacing project. Proclamations were made for Child Abuse Prevention Month and Alabama Extension Week. Furthermore, the commission approved the termination of building services for the City of Chelsea for commercial permits, with a transition plan for residential inspections.
