The committee held a public comment session as part of its agenda. The primary action item addressed was the 2027 Public Health Madison & Dane County budget proposal. The committee reviewed the proposal presentation and formally voted to refer the budget item to the full Board of Health for Madison and Dane County.

The council received a presentation and update on the Dane County Food System Action Plan. Discussions included the current status of the Double Dollars program at local markets and ongoing efforts regarding the Madison Public Market opening. Members reviewed reports on regional food system planning, agriculture, and food access network activities. Additionally, the council discussed upcoming city and county budget processes and the need to recruit members to fill vacancies.

The board authorized a sole source intergovernmental agreement with the University of Wisconsin Population Health Service Fellows Program and approved an amendment to the public health budget to accept grant funds from the Medical College of Wisconsin for young parents in schools. Additionally, the board authorized the acceptance of additional grant funds from the University of Wisconsin System for the Ryan White Sub-Recipient Part C program and approved the 2027 Public Health Madison & Dane County budget proposal.

The meeting addressed the jurisdictional transfer with Wistat, including the establishment of a dedicated transportation fund and the allocation of payments for specific street projects. Additionally, the commission reviewed proposed street design alternatives for the Parman Terrace construction project. Staff recommended Design C, which includes street-level sidewalk installation, leading to discussions regarding ADA compliance, pedestrian safety, and ongoing maintenance responsibilities.

The committee processed a consent agenda involving multiple requests for changes of agent, business name changes, entity reorganizations, and changes of license conditions. Additionally, the committee reviewed and conditionally approved an operator license application for an applicant with a prior felony conviction, contingent upon receiving a letter of support from the Department of Corrections. The committee also initiated a public hearing for a new restaurant license.
