The next steps involved developing a recruitment plan targeting parents, community members, and students, with specific ideas including seeking nominations from principals, leveraging involvement in health-related clubs, posting invitations on the district website, and engaging partners and members of the Mayoral Fitness Council.

The East Central ISD Family Engagement Plan for 2025-2026 is dedicated to fostering family involvement to ensure children's success in early learning and beyond. It outlines six key components: facilitating family-to-family support, establishing a network of community resources, increasing family participation in decision-making, equipping families with learning tools, developing staff skills in evidence-based practices that support families, and continuously evaluating engagement efforts. The plan aims to provide an inclusive, high-quality early learning program that values diversity and prepares children for future schooling and life.

This document, titled 'Leading the EC Way,' defines the attributes and competencies for leaders within ECISD, aiming to identify, grow, and empower stronger leadership. It is structured around three foundational pillars: 'Powered by People,' which focuses on building relationships and effective communication; 'Strengthened by Systems,' emphasizing the cultivation of an inclusive culture and the actualization of a compelling vision; and 'Driven by Results,' which centers on continuous growth and achieving impact. The framework is designed to improve student outcomes for the East Central Community.

The East Central ISD Local Innovation Plan outlines the district's strategy to leverage flexibilities under Texas Education Code Chapter 12A to enhance educational outcomes. The plan's vision is for every student to engage in a high-level academic journey, prepared for college, career, or military service, with a mission for every student to achieve at least one year of academic growth annually. Key areas of innovation include educator certification and contracts, student admission and attendance policies (including calendar flexibility and class size), parental grievance procedures, school library management, student discipline coordination, employee leave programs, and district/campus planning and financial operations. The plan seeks to optimize local control and operational efficiency to better serve students, staff, and the community.
