Friona Independent School District Regular Meeting Minutes
The Board received a Lone Star Governance report covering academic growth and student retention rates, and reviewed student handbooks. Several items were approved, including the 2026-2027 Student Code of Conduct, the EDGAR Manual, the 2026-2027 Parent & Family Engagement Policy, the Translation Policy, the 2026-2027 Professional Development Plan, and the Procurement Procedures Manual for Child Nutrition Food Services. The Board also reviewed an energy savings report, federal programs, and an update on the Guardian Plan and district safety audit. Additionally, the Board accepted a $50,000 donation for band uniforms, approved budget amendments, designated an officer for tax rate calculation, updated bank signature cards, and held a budget workshop regarding tax rates. A closed session was held to discuss contracts, resignations, non-renewals, reassignments, and retirements.
