College of Natural Sciences Strategic Initiatives 2021-2026
This document outlines the College of Natural Sciences' strategic initiatives planned over the next five years, primarily focused on transforming student lives, especially for first-generation and historically marginalized students in STEM. Key areas of focus include expanding peer mentoring programs, enhancing comprehensive student support systems (new facilities, academic programs, emergency funding), diversifying academic offerings through certificate programs and interdisciplinary studies, and increasing student research and internship opportunities. A significant objective is also to expand leadership fellowships and recruit diverse faculty to drive student success and research innovation, ultimately fostering a more inclusive and impactful STEM community.
