This Schoolwide Program Plan outlines strategies to address school needs, focusing on supplemental instruction in core subjects (Math, Reading, English Language Arts, Science) and initiatives such as class size reduction, professional learning communities, and multi-tiered systems of support. The plan aims to provide opportunities for all students to meet challenging Missouri Learning Standards, strengthen academic programs, increase learning time, and offer an enriched curriculum. It also addresses the needs of at-risk students, non-academic skill development, postsecondary preparation, professional development for staff, and transition for preschool children, while coordinating various federal, state, and local funding sources.

The meeting included recognition of difference makers from Callaway Hills, Belair Elementary, and Cedar Hill. The superintendent shared updates on desk arrangements for social distancing, the district's COVID tracker, candidate filing for the School Board, and staff surveys. The staff survey results indicated improvements in staff leadership relationships, school leadership, school climate, and professional learning.

The meeting included recognition of difference makers, including Sarah Gin for her work with parents and teachers, and Dr. Ryan Day, Bo Underwood, and Vivian Murphy for organizing a block party at East Elementary. The board discussed a facilities committee update regarding an insurance issue related to construction contracts, exploring options for a wrap-up program to potentially save money and encourage local contractor participation. They reviewed the benefits and potential savings of owner-controlled insurance programs (OIP) versus contractor-controlled insurance programs (CIP).

The meeting included discussion of consent agenda items and recognitions. One of the administrators was recognized as the top director of the year for career-tech. The district literacy trainer was recognized for her efforts in getting 100% of the kids reading at or above grade level. The First Baptist Church was recognized for partnerships. Coach Justin Reynolds was recognized as a difference maker. Laurel Heights Elementary and Cedar Hill were recognized for artwork. There was also a discussion of staff professional development, homecoming activities, and partnerships with Kelly Services and the city. The faculty council started this month and National Custodial Worker Appreciation Day was on October 2nd. There was a game ball presentation with United Way. Sergeant Lacey of the Calloway County Sheriff's Department discussed driving a bus three times and coffee with Larry. The Chief of Learning provided an update and there was a reading update.

The meeting included recognition of outstanding seniors from Cap City and Jeff City, as well as recognition of the Callaway Hills Elementary staff as this month's difference maker. Discussions also involved updates on student progress, the upcoming student calendar for the 22-23 school year, and preparations for inclement weather. There was also a discussion regarding the boundary line process.
