Environmental Protection Agency Strategic Roadmap 2021-2024
The PFAS Strategic Roadmap outlines the Environmental Protection Agency's comprehensive plan to address per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) pollution and deliver public health benefits. The strategy is built upon three central directives: Research, to increase understanding of PFAS exposures and effects; Restrict, to proactively prevent PFAS from entering the environment; and Remediate, to broaden and accelerate the cleanup of PFAS contamination. The plan emphasizes a lifecycle approach, upstream prevention, polluter accountability, science-based decision-making, and equitable protection for disadvantaged communities, aiming to accelerate progress in contamination cleanup, prevention, and scientific understanding.
