This Local Economic Development Strategy outlines a clear direction for area growth within the Rural Municipality of Alexander for the period of 2020-2026. The strategy is built upon eight strategic pillars: CED Leadership and Capacity, Area Marketing and Public Communication, Sustainable Development, Infrastructure and Services, Economic Stability, Tourism Development, Business Development, and Population Retention and Expansion. The overarching vision is to transform the municipality into a highly desired tourism destination, attracting visitors and businesses, which will foster community infrastructure, services, rural diversification, and population growth.

The council meeting addressed various administrative and operational matters including the approval of accounts payable, authorization of outstanding waste disposal fees, and approval for council members to attend regional leadership gatherings. Discussions were held on supporting local ditch cleanup programs, funding gazebo repairs at a seniors' home, and providing an update on the civil engineering technologist position. Public works reports covered road and lagoon maintenance, sign repairs, and the procurement of new equipment. Additionally, the council ratified earlier decisions regarding fire bans across different wards.

The council meeting featured a presentation from the Property Assessment department regarding the province-wide reassessment, explaining how property values are calculated, the verification process for valid sales, and the impact on tax bases. The Council discussed police statistics and the working relationship with the Victoria Beach police force, including concerns regarding radar enforcement and the reporting process for complaints. The meeting also included the approval of general checks and financial disbursements, as well as the authorization of discretionary grant funding for the Great Falls District Recreation Association to purchase wildfire protection equipment.
