The board meeting addressed several administrative and operational items, including the approval of a revised Board Finance Committee Charge, the selection of the Pauly Group as the executive search firm for the presidential search process, and the approval of a new operating standard regarding course registration policies. Additionally, the board authorized contracts for the energy benchmarking project and sprinkler system rehabilitation, as well as exterior maintenance projects. An executive session was conducted to deliberate on employment matters and litigation, resulting in the formal appointment of the executive search firm.
The Board Finance Committee received an update on the FY27 budget, noting that no changes have been made since the first reading and that budget allocations and planning assumptions are under review. Additionally, the committee discussed a financial sustainability framework, including long-range enrollment and financial outlook, strategic planning considerations such as revenue growth and operational efficiency, the development of new planning tools like program cost models and capital investment planning, and future cost drivers including collective bargaining and compensation framework implementation.
The committee conducted its annual review of the Board Policy Manual. The discussion focused on recommending non-substantive revisions to improve clarity, consistency, formatting, and alignment with current institutional practices and terminology, ensuring these changes did not materially alter existing policies.
