The Village of Woodridge's Economic Development Strategic Plan outlines short-term and long-term goals and strategies to promote economic development within the Village. It focuses on three primary goals: Prospect Development, Business Retention, and Professional and Economic Support. The plan aims to encourage the redevelopment of key commercial corridors, stabilize and foster business growth, attract new businesses, and ensure proactive economic efforts for the community.

The board meeting included the reading of two proclamations, one designating Pride Month and one for Juneteenth. Public comments were heard regarding stormwater and floodplain design issues for a proposed commercial center project. The board approved a resolution for construction materials testing services and an ordinance amending the 2025 budget. The Mayor provided reports on upcoming summer community events, including the Woodridge Jubilee and a gathering of gratitude to commemorate the fifth anniversary of a local tornado, as well as the launch of the autism hero project blue envelope program. Furthermore, a final PUD amendment for a project at 103rd Street and Woodward was presented.

The meeting included the swearing-in of the chairperson of the board of police commissioners and several planning commissioners, as well as the recognition of the human relations advisory committee. The board issued proclamations for various observances in May, including Asian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, Jewish American Heritage Month, and Mental Health Awareness Month, among others. Public comments addressed concerns regarding the maintenance and safety of a specific bike path corridor, and the board initiated a review of an omnibus agenda including various items for approval.

The Woodridge Growing Forward Comprehensive Plan serves as a future roadmap and guide for a vibrant and thriving community. Developed through continuous engagement with residents and businesses, the plan aims to foster thoughtful, sustainable growth aligned with community vision. It encompasses diverse areas including community celebrations, human relations initiatives, public safety enhancements, park developments, strategic partnerships for economic development, economic indicators analysis, sales tax trends, new business integration, infrastructure improvements, and maintaining fiscal strength through responsible budgeting and capital projects like a new Public Works Facility.
